Job description: VACANCY - GENERAL MANAGER
SIS N.V. is seeking a hands-on, commercially driven General Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation and further growth of the company. This is a leadership role for someone who can organize people, keep operations on track, build strong customer relationships and actively develop new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the daily operations of SIS N.V. from order intake through purchasing, warehouse, logistics and delivery.
• Manage, guide and hold the office, procurement, warehouse and logistics teams accountable for performance and service.
• Actively develop new business, identify opportunities, visit customers, prepare proposals and secure new jobs and contracts.
• Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers while ensuring fast, professional follow-up on inquiries and orders.
• Oversee purchasing, supplier negotiations, pricing, margins and availability of provisions, food items, industrial supplies and other customer requirements.
• Monitor sales, gross margins, operating expenses, receivables and cash-flow priorities together with ownership/accounting.
• Establish clear procedures, planning, reporting and controls to ensure orders are completed correctly, profitably and on time.
• Resolve operational problems quickly and make practical day-to-day decisions within agreed management authority.
• Report regularly to ownership on sales, pipeline, operations, financial performance, staffing and key issues.
What We Are Looking For
• Proven management or senior operational experience, preferably in distribution, food service, provisions, ship supply, wholesale, logistics or a related industry.
• Strong commercial mindset with demonstrated ability to develop customers, negotiate and generate new business.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to organize a team, set priorities and follow through.
• Good financial and operational understanding, including pricing, margins, purchasing, inventory, receivables and cost control.
• Strong spoken and written English is required. Dutch and/or Papiamentu is an advantage.
• Comfortable with email, Excel and business/administrative systems.
• Independent, accountable, solution-oriented and willing to be hands-on when the operation requires it.
• Flexible availability, including occasional weekends when operationally necessary.
